Last week was spent volunteering at Machwa School. A day and boarding school for over 300 pupils which was for us a stark contrast to some of the other schools we have seen.
We helped out making plaster for the girls new dormitories and planting trees. We helped out with serving lunch most days and even got to do a small amount of teaching.
Many of us got our first real taste of African nightclubs when we went to Via Via on Thursday and impressed the locals with some tone deaf karaoke.
Things took a downhill turn at the weekend when food poisoning from a resturant struck the masses. However a couple of hospital trips (proven interesting by the slugs decorating the walls and the many failed attempts by doctors to insert an IV) later everyone is beginning to get better and we are on our way to Lake Manyara!
