Last weekend a few of us went to Battanbang for a night. I was supposed to go but I ended up not feeling well that morning. Those who went said that they really enjoyed the Bamboo train and watching the sunset from the caves.

The rest of us who did not go to Battanbang stayed in on Saturday night as everyone was beginning to feel the exhaustion. Elijah seemed to be feeling the worst out of everyone so we all had some well earned rest.

On Monday we finally finished building our toilet which has taken us nearly a month! Grandma Pat invited us to come back the following day so she could give us a gift of cooked bat. The next day we came back to receive this gift before spending the morning relaxing at the lake as we were due to start working at the ‘Music for Everybody’ school the next day. Here we began decorating their volunteer house where we put into practice our painting skills as we painted the orange pillars white. After we had finished the pillars we were asked to do an artistic painting on one of the doors. Lucinda and I decided to do a picture of a crocodile singing as this is the name of the volunteer house. Unfortunately, Poppy was ill that day and she happens to be the only one with any form of artistic talent! Despite this we gave it a good go and it isn’t TOO bad, luckily it isn’t finished so hopefully Poppy can rectify the situation later this week.

We had a couple of afternoons off this week because the children at the orphanage were taking public exams so we had no kids to teach! Toe took us into town and showed us some of the markets. On Wednesday Elijah decided to go to hospital as he wasn’t feeling any better but luckily he is now getting a lot better with all his meal-time medications!

Saturday was spent visiting the floating village and enjoying unlimited food and drinks on a boat for sunset. We all took advantage of the free cocktails as we watched the sun go down, luckily it just so happened to be one of the nicest sunsets I have seen in Siem Reap! This weekend we have an extra long weekend as the Americans have requested to have Monday off so we can watch the Superbowl.

  • I have been surfing on-line greater than three hours lately, but
I never discovered any interesting article like yours.
It is lovely worth enough for me. Personally, if
all web owners and bloggers made good content as you did,
the net will probably be much more useful than ever before.
